Electric Pulp DNS Transfers

Your Electric Pulp hosting generally includes these two components related to your domain name: 1) Domain name server hosting and 2) DNS registration and management. Generally, if you’re going to transfer your domain in order to manage it yourself, we’ll ask you to also transfer the DNS registration under your management as well. Below you’ll find instructions on how to transfer your DNS and Domains.

DNS TRANSFERS

  1. You’ll start by contacting us to let us know you’d like to start to manage the DNS yourself. We’ll unlock the domain that will allow the process to begin.

  2. There are several DNS registrars that you can use, such as GoDaddy, Network Solutions etc. Once you have chosen your registrar, you’ll need to login and follow their instructions to begin the transfer. This process will result in an email being sent to your current DNS administrative contact, which in most cases will be us.

  3. Once we receive the email, we’ll either complete the transfer request, or forward it to your contact to complete the necessary steps to complete the transfer. Some registrars have a few different steps that’ll need to be followed but they’ll all be outlined in the email for you to follow.

  4. That’s it! The transfer should complete within 24-48 hours of submission (sometimes it can take up to 7 days, but this is unusual).

  5. Once you’ve completed these steps - please let us know so we can stop billing on any services which you may not require any longer. If you do not contact us, you will continue to be billed until we hear from you that would like your DNS management services cancelled.
